Relaxation

We are on vacation.

Yesterday after church, we departed from Ohio. We have not gone anyhwre "exotic" but we are in a beautiful location.

So, after church, we began our journey. Our destination, a cottage in Michigan. On the way, we got a little hungry, so we looked for a place to eat. Our options were a little limited with it being Easter. We stopped at Bob Evans. It was very good. I had the "skillet". This reminded me of Kentucky. Each Wednesday, I met with ym's at Bob Evan's. We would have breakfast and talk shop. I really miss that time.

After lunch, we got back on the road. We arrived to our location; a little before 6 pm. We unloaded the vehicle and set up for the week. After a little resting, we went to Meijer's to grab groceries for the week. We got home a little around 10 pm. We unpacked the groceries, watched a little tv and had a snack before heading to bed.

This morning and early afternoon has been very relaxing and refreshng and that is the whole point of this week of vacation - not doing much. So, here is what we (I) have done today.

I slept in till about 9:15 and then ate breakfast. As I was eating breakfast, I played UNO with Bethany ( 3 games ). They, the boys, were hanging out outside enjoying all the open spaces. We ( the kids and me ) then searched the property. We went walking, played on the swing set, played a little volleyball, hung out at the pond, trampled through the stream and sat in the screened in gazebo that overlooks the pond.

We are staying in a very nice cottage that is situted on 130 acres nestled in the Maple River Valley. The terrain is gently rolling and it surrounds 40 acres of wood.

There is not much on our agenda. We are going to do a few things. Tomorrow is our busy day. For the most part, it is just relaxing and hanging out. This afternoon, we are going to the movies. We are going to see the Spiderwick Chronicles. The boys and I just finished the books. We hardly ever (maybe once or twice a year) go to the movies, so we thought this could be a vacation treat.

More Later.

I hope you have a great week. Our vacation isn't until the end of June. That is so far away! Susie and I were saying this weekend that we need a week to "do nothing." Sounds like you have that kind of week planned.

Jeff, I just read through your NYWC posts and I think we ate lunch next to each other at Jock's and Jill's. We stayed and watched the entire game, and those cheerleaders were annoying.

Jeff,

Your week sounds AWESOME!!! Have fun playing with the kiddos. We already live out in the boonies (72 acres)in the middle of NOWHERE! It's relaxing just to drive home from the office (which takes an hour).

You should enjoy the Spiderwick Chronicles. My kids thought it was awesome. It was so awesome that my son who hates to read anything but encyclopedias and Ripley's Believe It or Not books just HAD to go get the books so he could read them!

Enjoy the awesome people who are incredible gifts in your life! Family is your support line!

Hope you come back refreshed!
