Michael Pfleger

Here he is ......

In the video, he jumps on a soap box and then "slams" and makes fun of Hilary.

If your comments (if any come) want to deal with politics, please feel free. However, I am not dealing with the political aspect. I am wanting to deal with the spiritual/religion aspect.

How in the world, did we arrive at this place ?

Why would those outside of Christ want anything to do with church when they see this?

I thought Christianity and church was suppose to be a place for love and mutual support and encouragement. I thought that this is what we are suppose to be doing/displaying:

Galatians 5:22-27 (New International Version)

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

This (the video) hardens my heart and it makes me sad.

Well, I would never say that religion and politics don't mix, because so much of what Jesus says is overtly political as he talks of transformed relationships and societies.

I don't know how it plays over there as this sort of expression just doesn't happen here - it is so against the prevailing culture of stiff upper lip and don't make a scene which impacts on religious expressions too: very understated.

But this is the sort of thing that makes European Christians deeply suspicious of and a touch anxious about American expressions of Christianity.
