House Numbers

Did you know that house numbers could tell you if you are at the right house or not ??

I am not kidding, you could not make this up :)

Painter A in town was going to go to the house and give us an estimate. Without us being in town, we must call the broker we are working with/through and have them meet everyone at the house. They ( painter A & broker ) had a meeting at 10 am.

At 10:40, I receive a phone call from Painter A. I thought that I was going to be getting a quote. Nope. This is what I received:

Jeff, I missed the broker. I was late and he did not wait ( ummmm, it was 40 mins and you did have his cell number ). Then he explains what happened. I was up the street about 7 houses sitting in the driveway. The house was for sale, so I asuumed this was the house. After 40 mins, I looked at the house and house number and saw that they did not match with what number you said the house was .. so I bopped down the street and he was gone.

* shakes head *

Then painter A asks me not to be mad at the broker for leaving so an estimate could not be made. I assured Painter A that I would not hold it against the broker.

I sure hope painter B & C have better luck.

Do you suppose it is the heat that has fried their brains? I would be a little scared to take a quote from someone that cannot compare numbers to make sure they are at the right address. Hope the other two come through for you. Good Luck!

Heaven:

I believe Painter A is going to be out of the picture on this account. I really liked Painter B via the phone conversation, he seemed really nice and we talked about the move - why - where I was serving - he talked about the town for our kids. I told Stacey before Painter A conversation that I want Painter B even if he is higher.

So, we will see.

Do you think Painter A & the carpet Lady from Lowes could be related? Ya'll are having some fabulous luck with helping hands, aren't you? Oh, and that's not even mentioning the fence issues your other half talked about!

Painter A is HISTORY

He called again late yesterday afternoon. My response, you have got to be kidding.

Here are a few things:

1. He called and gave the broker a hard time for not waiting for him.

2. Broker assistant called to tell him that he missed the appointment and offered to set up a second meeting. He told her, 'lady you have the wrong number' - he did not recognize the name. AFTER he got off the phone he saw the number on caller id and realized who it was.

3. He calls to tell me that he does not want to work through the broker and he wants me to come out ( 6 hours ) and show the house.

4. He continued to gripe about the broker to me and telling me how lame he was.

5. As I tried to tell him that I was going to look elsewhere - he continued to yak and complain that we have not given him a fair opportunity.

painter C has given a good quote. We will hear Painter B on monday and make a decision.
